RazzyRoo Headbands Review and Cupcake Marathon prize!

Cheryl over at RazzyRoo was sweet enough to send me a couple of her headbands to review. And to hand out as prizes for the Cupcake Marathon! Thanks, Cheryl!

RazzyRoo Headbands

I tried the Headbands out on a 5 mile run (I really needed to wear a thick Buff headband for the longer runs, due to the chilly temps). I also tried them out strolling around town and going out to dinner.

The fit

In my opinion, the fit is similar to the bands they sell at Sweatybands. However, I feel the RazzyRoo headbands have a slightly less tight strap in the back. And that's a good thing, since I did not feel like my brain was being squeezed out of my skull while I was wearing the RazzyRoo headbands!

Non-slip

These bands do NOT slip. At all. And I have some crazy thick hair. Slippery hair. Pretty slippery hair, as in hair a curling iron can't get curls in. That slippery. But the RazzyRoo Headbands tamed my lion's mane (okay, 'mane'? How the bleep did I come up with that...)! :)

The design

The RazzyRoo non-slip velvet: it works! They do NOT slip! And I have some slippery hair, believe me!

I somehow love that it says 'Made in the USA' on the inside. :)

And where does the Cupcake Marathon come in? Cheryl at RazzyRoo handed out the headbands as prizes in the Cupcake Marathon raffle! So, for one lucky lady / guy (guys can wear headbands too, right?) there is some cool swag to win! :) Huge thanks to Cheryl!

Wednesday market - Runningskirts!

A couple of months ago I purchased these two running skirts from runningskirts.com.

I bought these two babies for a specific race. Me and my outfit were all set, and then the race was cancelled. I've never worn these skirts, and the color/design is just not something I would wear on a training run. Plus winter kicked in in Holland, which means that I won't be wearing any runningskirts until May 2011. And then there will be new designs out. ;)

Ergo, I'm willing to send these skirts to the girl that will wear them and is in love with the design. The skirts are the runningskirt-style (briefs) and a size 1 (wms 0-2). As long as you pay for the shipping costs (about $12 - $15), it's okay with me. Just consider this an early Christmas present...

PS: I'm willing to give them to some one that wants to wear it herself, and not sell it to some one else. That would take away the whole idea behind it. :)

We have a winner! - Pre Marathon Giveaway

Well....I guess none of you could have guessed that I would get injured at mile 8 (mile 8!!! 18 (What the @%!%^?) to go!) and limp the thing out in 5:18:46. Ouch... Especially when you were right on track for a sub 4. Yeah, the injury (ripped calf) got me an extra 1 1/2 hours on my splits. I guess that's what you get when you're limping and aren't able to run for these last 18 miles.

Did you just say pre marathon giveaway?

Those of you that did not just stumble upon this blog a minute ago and are now wondering whether or not I'm in desperate need of psychiatric help, might already know that I plan on running the New York Marathon on November 7th. That's 22 days from today. What the heck? No!!! I feel so not prepared!

It will not be my first marathon. My first marathon was the Swiss Alpine Marathon last July. A 6.300 ft elevation mountain marathon. Yeah, wise choice for the first one. I had a blast, though.

The New York Marathon will be, if everything goes as planned AND Immigration will let me enter the US, my second marathon, and my FIRST road marathon.

So, I guess it's time for my first giveaway, huh? :)
