Three Things Thursday

Ran: 6.3 miles / 10K - 55 min Easy the week post-marathon run

OK, this is going to be a very chaotic and very random three things thursday-post...I just have to get a few things off my chest. :)

1. On my trip to Switzerland last week I saw a Dobermann-dog (huge dog!) wearing a rainsuit. No kidding... It even had a little hole for his poopoo. I don't get the things people are trying to get their dogs to wear these days. Why would you want to dress up your dog? Beats me...

These dog costumes are hilarious, though! I'll have to admit that! :)

Tried to convince my dog Lordie to wear the crocodile-costume. Unfortunately, he didn't really 'dig' it. Mr. Fancy Pants... :)

2. I really lalalove (*chimes*) the Newton Lady Isaac Stability Guidance trainer and would love to take them out for a run or two (or more...I just need those shoes!). Problem is, I can't find them anywhere. Apparently, a size 10.5 Wms Lady Isaac Stability is all sold out. Booohooo! If anyone knows of a store selling those and shipping to Europe; please do tell!:) If anyone wants to send them to me as a gift; even better. :)

And yeah, I know my feet are huge, but, hey, what can I say, I'm a tall Dutch girl...it comes with the genes. :)

3. The new Fall/Winter skirts from runningskirts.com are out this September! Wooohooooo! I'm doing my happy dance here! Really can't wait for these skirts to be on their website! :) So excited! The new preppy black is adorable!

Question: Any fellow runningskirts.com skirt-addicts out there?

Funny you should post about the Newtons! I am actually heading to a Newton retailer during lunch today, I will research for you! Also, yes, I am totally addicted to runningskirts.com - I am a bit ashamed to admit I just bought three more today :(

Silly Girl Running said...

LOL! Three more skirts; nothing to be ashamed of! :) I rewarded myself with two (cheetah and green plaid) just for finishing the marathon; just trying to find excuses.;) Sweet of you to check at the retailer; thanks! :)

This is the website of the "Newton Lab" - location down the street from my work. Looks like they ship international and have a 10.5 for you:

Thanks Becka! Going to check it out! :)

I just got back and he said if you can't get them local they will definitely ship and to email if it gives you trouble ordering. (Also, they sell skirts from runningskirts.com and they are cheaper by $10!!!)

Silly Girl Running said...

Wow! Thanks so much! Do you have the emailaddress or website from that store?

And runningskirt-com skirts cheaper by $10; is this heaven? :)

I wish I would have gone before I would have bought more today! I haven't had any luck getting discount codes. They had 2 of the 3 I ordered. Of course now that I know they are there... :D

Website:
newtonrunning.com
I don't see an email address - just a "contact us" form.

Silly Girl Running said...

Hahaha! Does a girl ever have enough runningskirts? ;)

I e-mailed them, and they say they charge about $80 on shipping... That's a lot... :(

Becka said...

I can probably ship them to you for less than that. Want me to? If so, send me a message through Facebook, I'd be happy to do that for you.

Becka said...

OR!!! Check this site!!

http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpage.html?PCODE=NEWISWW

Looks like they have 10.5 and according to their calculator they ship to Netherlands, closer to $40 vs. $80 :D

(PS, I have bought from them before - usually just compression leg sleeves, no shoes, but they ship really fast)

Thanks, Becka! You're the best! :) I'm gonna try the runningwarehouse-website. Super! If that doesn't work I might hold you to that shipping-offer. ;)

I'm such a skirtaholic, I dedicated a whole blog post about it a while ago. I LOVE the plaid skirts, and have seen the new sneak peak out there on Cindy's FB page. I can't WAIT to get my new skirt. I'm starting to think I might need it for my marathon outfit (Nov).

Silly Girl Running said...

@ momof3 November? Are you also going to NY? :) I so need a new skirt for that marathon! :)

Is de Newton Gravity niet een goed alternatief? Die verkopen ze hier:

Silly Girl Running said...

Sypke en Beitske said...

Heb je dan nog een paar nodig? :-)

Silly Girl Running said...

Hahahaha! Met gemiddeld 70K in de week, en in de weken voor de marathon zo'n 80 a 90, gaat het hard met m'n schoentjes. ;)

UGH!! I'm so addicted to running gear. I ordered the same Newtons in the pink color. I figure one can be my race pair? And I'm desperately hoping that the runningskirts release the argyle line soon - adorable!!! I've worn a skirt to race in for years, but they've always been Nike and they are not nearly as cute and have no pockets. Let me know if that site works for you!

Silly Girl Running said...

@ Becka I will! Thanks! And I'm with you on the release of the argyle line: so - freakin - adorable!

1. We have a softshell jacket for our poodle, but its because we hike in winter a lot and sometimes keep his curls too short.

2. I wear a womens 11 or 12, usually 12 works better for me. And I'm only 5'7".

3. I'm totally addicted to running skirts. I don't know if I would be comfortable running in shorts again.

Silly Girl Running said...

@ Miriam Fellow Standard Poodle-lovers get away with anything; even the crocodile outfit. :) Might consider the softshell jacket for winter when his curls are very short. Even thinking about shoes for winter running with him. This snow/ice at his paws is not good.

We have booties for Cooper in winter because we end up with ice balls on his feet if we don't. I like to use dog sledding booties. They are generally pretty inexpensive and stay on pretty well.

There are some expensive options I've never tried. Ruff Wear has some that have traction http://www.ruffwear.com/dog_boots;jsessionid=0a010c641f43c3838369bc774fe0813ff71cd3e76cd4.e3eSc3mSaxuPe34Pa38Ta38Oax10

Silly Girl Running said...

@ Miriam Exactly; the ice balls are the problem! I'm gonna check out the Ruff Wear ones; thanks for letting me know! :)
