Three Things Thursday

1. Trixie: Flat tire. Again (and nope: I didn't ride her since the tire (back one) was fixed last Friday). Enough said. Will be checking in at the bike shop - again - tomorrow. I've just had her for a couple of weeks: the tires should have been okay.

2. Hill Workouts: Treadmill. 15% incline. For 70 minutes straight, then another 7 1/2 minutes at 10% incline. It hurts. It really hurts. My quads are on fire and on strike at the same time. It should get me ready (or ready-ish) for those scary uphills, right? Right? Any advice on this one? How to train your legs for mountains when living in a country as flat as the Netherlands? The treadmill is my best bet at the moment...

3. Fundraising Team Hole in the Wall: Hit $ 6,045 this week with 4 months to go! That's 2 kids that will get the chance to go to one of the Hole in the Wall camps! How awesome is that! And guess what: I'm kicking it into gear to see if I can raise enough to help a third kid! Want to help? (Pretty Please!) The Team Hole in the Wall link in my sidebar will forward you to my fundraising page! :)

Bummer about the tires. Definitely get it checked out.

You are insane with this mountain running. Wish I had the guts!

Holy cow with the fundraising! So awesome. I want to fundraise like that!

Congrats on your fundraising - that is awesome!

As for the tire, I kept getting a mystery flat on one of my tires and it turned out one of the spokes on the wheel was puncturing my tubes from the inside. Once that got fixed, I've been good to go!

@TMB: I keep telling myself that that incline thing will help me get a faster runner one day... Uhm...yep...a girl can dream, right? ;)

@M: Thanks!!! That's solid advice!!! I'll be sure to tell them that at the bike shop.

Awesome job on the hills! That's tough stuff and should do the trick for you.

I live in Houston which is flat as a board. The way we get in hill training here is treadmills and then to run around in car parking garages, while it's not my idea of a good time to be around cars, I'll take anything over running on a treadmill!

I did happen to find a neat mountain bike trail also that I have taken to running. It's not the same kind of "hills" but it's at least not flat!

I have wanted to try this tire thing - (un)fortuantely, there are a million crazy hills in Seattle.
