Three Things Thursday

1. My mom's pup was neutered today. The poor puppy! He has to wear some kind of play suit now to prevent him from licking the spot formerly known as 'his balls'. I'll be heading over to the pet store later this afternoon to buy him a 'get well soon' toy (I know...it's a dog, not a baby...but I'm buying him something anyway - get over it...).
2. I'm already obsessing over the weather on Nov. 7: New York Marathon. I literally have three different orange shirts printed with my name on it. A short sleeve, a long sleeve and a thermo. From what I've heard it can be in the low 50's, but also in the high 70's on marathon day. I just want to be prepared for whatever weather possible. If anyone has a reliable prediction on the weather, please do let me know. 'Cause I really don't want to be forced to bring tons of running clothes.
That much luggage is just embarrassing! In case you were wondering...it's Mariah Carey's...

3. Days left till the New York City Marathon:

30; that's 30 ladybugs!

I'm so friggin' pumped for our NYC marathon (I'm along for the ride through you). What's the goal?

@ Q: Goal was 3:50...for my first road marathon (my first marathon was a mountain marathon...don't ask...I'm a nut). But since I injured my knee...I might have to settle for sub 4...especially with all the bridges and hills everyone is talking about...

Silly Girl Running said...

@ The Bryans: Hahahaha! Dat meen je niet! Die gekke Amerikanen. ;)

I'm making a shirt with that on it - not quite sure who will be WEARing it but will sort that part out later.

I'm so freaking excited for you!! NYC!!

Silly Girl Running said...

@ Emz: You actually already have those shirts for dogs. Although it's much funnier when a guy is wearing it. ;)

I am soooo excited for you and NYC!! The last book I read ("A Race Like No Other" by Liz Robbins) was all abou the NYC marathon, it sounds so fun and amazing! One day I'd like to try that one, but that is in the distant future.

I would say pack a sleeveless top also (you need more choices, right?) b/c with the late start at NY, it can also get very hot. You never know!

I'm calling foul!! That is not Mariah Carey's luggage. That's my wife's luggage for her one day marathon!! :-)

Ha ha - you're so organised. 3 shirts!!

Silly Girl Running said...

@ Becka: I'm so excited! Counting down the days! :)

@ Char: Hahaha; well, 4, 'cause MissZippy (my guru) adviced me to add a sleeveless top. ;)

Silly Girl Running said...

@ MissZippy: Thanks for the advice! Will do! :)

@ Kevin: Hahahahahaha! Your poor wife. ;)

Silly Girl Running said...

You're gonna smash it AND look good doing it.
