Note to self

A triathlon specific swimming clinic with mass start + all women, no men = one major cat fight. I was astonished to see that some girls were actually on each other's back to finish faster. And this was just a (training) clinic...not even a race. This girl is a bit worried about the actual race... Enough said.

Just one of the bruises I ended up with. And yes, it is more painful than it looks. Did make me feel 'bad ass', though. ;)

Wow! That sounds very scary!

@ Karen: It was. At least at first. I honestly had no idea that this is how a tri works...

Tip: don't ever start at the beginning of the pack. Always start at the back and on the far side. It maybe a longer swim but it will be a much easier and less aggressive swim.

Quite whining. That is only a small boo-boo. You will get even more when you start riding the bike (especially when learning to ride with clips). ;-)

That's rough. Love the header by the way!

LOL, giggle, snicker.

I am not making fun of you. I do that in a later post but I have an excuse. You are dressed up in purple fuzzy legwarmers and wrist bands.

Learn how to use the clips in a trainer first. I fell several times myself and still do on occasion.

@ TMB: Thanks! :)

@ Kevin: Thanks: I'll try those clips first, before I take the bike on the road... And thanks for sharing that clip. Ha! :)

I remember my first Tri, there were girls kicking and hitting me. At first I thought if was accidential since I had no chance of beating them. But I soon realized they were doing it on purpose. There are some determained women out there. I definitely start in the back, I'm wimpy.

@ Bonnie: I'm with you on this one. I won't mind being a wimp, if this means I won't end up with a black eye. :)

WHOA! I love that it's just from a clinic, too.

You've got to train for all that pushing and shoving too. Nice bruise!

@ Ms. Duffy: I knew you'de love this. ;)

@ Char: I know! I need to do some serious strength training! :)
