Sunday: Ran 5 miles / 8K with the dogs
Today: Cycling: 30 minutes
No better way to start the New Year than to head out for a nice, muddy, mushy, slippery trail run on New Year's Day. So, on January 1st 2011, that's exactly what I did: run. 10.1 miles / 16.2K of pure fun. The dogs loved it. Diddy even ran his distance PR! :)
'Zaterdag' means 'Saturday'...
That trail was slippery and mushy, though. Tired me out completely! It sure is hard to keep your pace up when you're plowing through some serious mud/melted snow. But, on the plus side, I felt like I was flying on the last two miles of the run: these last two miles were on the road/pavement, in case you were wondering. ;)
Well...that's all for now. I will put another post up later today. And yep, that will be the first of the 'official 5 year plan bucket list' posts. :)
Happy New Year to all of you! :)

"Zaterdag" sounds like a word my mother would wash my mouth out with soap is I said it out loud. :-)

Sounds like a GREAT start to the new year. I was out there sloshing around, too, but it was rain not snow.
Cheers to a wonderful New Year!

I love me some Zaterdag.
@ Kevin: Zaterdag is just Dutch for Saturday...that mind of yours...
@ Wifey: Happy New Year to you too! :) And, actually, I don't really mind sloshing around... ;)
@ TRI-James: Hahahaha! I'll just forward you to my reply to Kevin above. ;)
Sounds like a great run! How nice that you can run with your dogs. I bet that really keeps you going! I love the main picture on your blog. It's beautiful!
@ Jen: Thanks! :) And my dogs do work wonders: I honestly believe that they got me through my calf injury. :)
happy new year! Ryan and I are looking into getting a puppy, hopefully in the next year. we are looking to get a dog that can run with us for hours, on roads and trails, what kind do you have?
Oh, that sounds like total fun
Have a wonderful year.
I got a new Garmin for Christmas and I haven't even charged it yet with all the busy-ness of the holidays. Your post made me want to get out on the trails with that new Garmin to track some new routes!
@silly girl - Zaterdag is a bad word in American. Ask Tri-James he knows. Like " Zaterdag happens" or "watch out don't step in that Zaterdag" :-)
