1. Comfy: I'm not giving up on skirthood, but these shorts are seriously light-weight (compared to - for example - the Nike Tempo Shorts). Paper thin fabric. No bulky feel. Great fit and enough room for gels/keys/etcetera. The shorts have one zippered pocket in the back and two stretchy stash pockets.

2. Fast-drying: Wore those running 22 miles on a treadmill - 22 sweaty miles. Yet they did not get soaking wet. At all. Stayed dry the entire time. No chaffing either.
3. Split: I like split shorts. The fit. The unlimited range of movement they'll give you. However, it's hard to find a good old split short these days. With a decent split on the sides. Somehow the Adidas and Under Armour just don't do it for me. The North Face has succeeded in creating an old-fashioned split short. Lucky me. :)
